蒸餾所關注薇甘菊 M. micrantha（小花蔓澤蘭）對環境的影響。作為一種入侵物種植物，並且大量生長已經對香港生態系統造成影響。此外，如果使用化學除草製劑對付薇甘菊直接對環境、食物鏈和生物多樣性產生負面影響。
